SMT251-G

NOT FOR NEW DESIGNS

PCI-104 Carrier (SMT130) and a Memory Module; Virtex-II Pro FPGA XC2VP7; Rocket Serial Link (RSL) (SMT351-G)

The SMT251-G is made up of the SMT130 (a PCI-104 single site TIM specification carrier) and a SMT351-G (A Memory Module; Virtex-II Pro FPGA XC2VP7; Rocket Serial Link TIM)

The SMT130 is a single site module carrier developed to provide access to a TIM module over the PCI-104 PCI bus.

Data transfers of 50-100Mbytes per second can be achieved to and from the Global Bus when accessing the SRAM and PCI Bridge, allowing fast data transfers.

The card has an ‘on-board’ JTAG controller which is software compatible with the XDS-510. This allows Code Composer studio and 3L applications to be used to debug/upload software to a DSP TIM.

The SMT351-G is a single width TIM compatible module populated with hi-density BGA package memory devices that is able to store up to 1GB of data at 400MB/s. The SMT351-G can be cascade with more modules for even greater memory storage capability.

The data flows in and out of the module are controlled by a Xilinx Virtex-II Pro FPGA XC2VP7. Connections to the module are made by two Sundance High-speed Bus (SHB) connectors, or through Rocket Serial Links (RSL). Both of these busses are compatible with other Sundance TIMS, and soon, Carrier cards.

Control of the SMT351 is achieved by sending control words via comport.

Four TTL I/Os and four LEDs are available for general purpose.
