PCI-104 Carrier (SMT130), FPGA Module, Virtex-4 with a 1GHz DAC module (SMT381 + SMT368A)

The SMT262 is made up of the SMT130 (A PCI104 single site TIM carrier) and a SMT362 (Digital Video Infrastructure Processor TIM, 2x C6455 @ 1GHz, 256Mb DDR2-500 SDRAM / DSP, 1x Virtex-4 FX60, 2x SHB, 2x RSL Interface, 4 ComPorts and General Purpose I/O ). This combination gives high performance processing in a compact form factor.

The SMT130 is a single site module carrier developed to provide access to a TIM module over the PCI-104 PCI bus.

Data transfers of 50-100Mbytes per second can be achieved to and from the Global Bus when accessing the SRAM and PCI Bridge, allowing fast data transfers.

The card has an “on-board” JTAG controller which is software compatible with the XDS-510. This allows Code Composer studio and 3L applications to be used to debug/upload software to a DSP TIM.

The SMT381 is a single width Daughter Module that plugs onto a FPGA TIM which functions as a ‘Base Module’. It is capable of converting two external digital inputs coming from the Virtex-4 FPGA, using the SLB interface, with a resolution of 14 bits at 840MSPS. Alternative is using the internal memory on the DAC and the speed will then be 1GSPS. A Fujitsu dual channel DAC (MB86064) performs the digital to analogue conversion.

The SMT368A controls data transfers via ComPorts, Sundance High-speed Bus (SHB) or the Rocket Serial Link (RSL) and the Sundance Local Bus (SLB). These interfaces are compatible with a wide range of Sundance processor and I/O modules.
