SMT290-VP30-6

NOT FOR NEW DESIGNS

s290SMT130 (a PCI-104 single site TIM specification carrier) and a SMT390-VP30-6 (An ADC Module, 2-Channels 210MSPS @ 12bits; SHB/RSL Interfaces; Xilinx Virtex II Pro VP30 FPGA)

The SMT290-VP30-6 is made up of the SMT130 (a PCI-104 single site TIM specification carrier) and a SMT390-VP30-6 (An ADC Module, 2-Channels 210MSPS @ 12bits; SHB/RSL Interfaces; Xilinx Virtex II Pro VP30 FPGA)

The SMT130 is a single site module carrier developed to provide access to a TIM module over the PCI-104 PCI bus.

Data transfers of 50-100Mbytes per second can be achieved to and from the Global Bus when accessing the SRAM and PCI Bridge, allowing fast data transfers.

The card has an ‘on-board’ JTAG controller which is software compatible with the XDS-510. This allows Code Composer studio and 3L applications to be used to debug/upload software to a DSP TIM.

SMT390 is the first of a range DAQ Modules from Sundance that uses Virtex-II Pro FPGA and a unique ‘Double-Decker’ inter-connections concept that separate the Digital control functions from the noise-sensitive DAQ semiconductors. The interface between the ‘Base’ and ‘Daughter’ Modules is done with the help of LVDS signals that are built into the latest Xilinx Virtex-II Pro FPGAs. The SMT390 offers a dual channel solution at 210MSPS conversation rate at 12-bits. The single width Module has two AD9430s from Analog Device Inc. rate and these are optimized for outstanding dynamic performance in wideband carrier and broadband systems. All necessary functions, including track-and-hold (T/H) and reference are included on the chip to provide a complete conversion solution.

The data are routed to four 16-bit Sundance Digital Bus, using two Sundance High-speed Buses connectors or to one of eight Rocket Serial Links and the control of the ADCs is done with the help of a Sundance ComPort.
